About the Role

The Program Director is responsible for the general operation of the PSS program, including, but not limited to, administering the program and supervising all staff: Qualified Professionals, Associate Professionals, and Paraprofessionals at all sites. The Program Director ensures that individuals with severe and persistent mental illness are engaged in the daily work of the units and oversees the completion of all of the program's tasks and responsibilities. The Program Director reports to the Clinical Director.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program at all sites.
• Implement the agency's Administrative and Program Policies and Procedures.
• Recruit participants for the clubhouse to ensure the program operates at capacity.
• Design units appropriate to members' goals, developmental needs, capacities, and interests.
• Supervise and engage staff in providing recovery-based services to adults with mental illness, helping them obtain vocational, educational, and other personal goals while conveying a sense of urgency to maintain all of the tasks and responsibilities within the units.
• Ensure that the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) is appropriately developed, implemented, and monitored in relation to the member’s needs.
• Monitor all authorizations and communication with LME and Medicaid regarding member authorizations, grant/contract compliance, and accreditation standards.
• Schedule training for employees to ensure compliance with DHHS training standards.
• Coordinate new admissions and transfers (e.g.) screening applicants, facilitating placement, etc.
• Monitor overall team efficiency and effectiveness and program performance. Work closely with the Administrative Officer to implement and maintain continuous performance improvement, including the Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance Plan.
• Conduct staff meetings to glean ideas, problem-solve, and communicate effectively about issues that affect staff and members.
• Assist the Clinical Director in evaluating agency outcomes related to promoting recovery, symptom stability, increased coping skills, and achieving the highest level of community functioning for members.
• Communicate directly with the Clinical Director on efforts to achieve current goals and the overall
• mission of the organization.
• Assist the Clinical Director in preparing quarterly and annual reports as senior management requires.
• Ensure Health and Safety and Incident Reporting requirements are upheld.
• Enforce all Southeastern safety standards and regulations.
• Work with the Clinical Director to increase public awareness and develop business relationships.
• Responsible for updating their knowledge base and keeping current with current trends in mental health, peer support, and psychosocial rehabilitation.
• Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics and comply with the State of North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse.
• Other duties as requested by senior Staff.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in a human services field with three years of post-graduate experience; or bachelor's degree in non-human services with no less than seven years of full-time, post-bachelors degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent writing, public speaking, and computer skills
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks
• No substantiated findings of abuse or neglect listed on the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry
